About Chloe and Jasmine
I have owned Jasmine for just over a year now, She was 6 when I bought her, but she was very green. I took her to a pony club rally to see whether i liked her before buying her, she pawed in the float the whole way there, she was sweated up and anxious. In flatwork she was jumpy and rushing around, in showjumping she jumped all the normal jumps, but was terrified of the fill. On cross country she refused every single jump before jumping them, When it came to the water it took everything we had to get her in, when she did she leaped in landing on all fours and almost managed to take the instructor with her! She was a horror horse! But there was something about her that I liked so we bought her anyway. When I got her home she was anxious, but quickly made friends with my other horse. I rode her the next day and she was perfect! From then on I began teching her eveything I knew, It was a challenge, but it is definately paying off. The next pony club rally I took her to she behaved impeccably, jumping all the big cross country jumps first time up and we ended up jumping 1.15m in showjumping! Jasmine began eventing at the very end of last year with a few training days where she breezed around the courses jumping D and C grade easily and boldly. She now events at D grade with many placings and wins under her belt, and we will be moving up to C grade very soon.We have our ups and downs like every horse and rider, but all it takes is perserverance and a clear head. Jasmine is not an easy horse to ride at all, she is the type of horse that thinks she is right all the time which makes training her difficult, but the thing about Jasmine is that when I do the right thing and get the results I know I have done the very best I can and that it was my riding and training that got that result. Even though she is a young and still a slightly green horse, she is teaching me more than I am teaching her which is a reward in itself.

Highlight of the Season so far
How far Jasmine has come, She is currently training B grade at pony club and at home, such a huge achievment for a horse who only began jumping a year ago!
Riding Goal this Year
Have Jasmine competing at C grade by the end of the year and do a clear 90cm showjumping round on her. I also want to get my baby OTTB Dusty out and about and to her first ODE before the end of the year.
Future Riding Ambitions
I would love to take my eventing to the top, a few years down the track I am also planning to put Jasmine into foal and start a small line of sport horses, H.L Performance.
Questionnaire
Riding History:
Started weekly riding lessons at 3, I got my first horse when i was 12, I started pony club in 2008 at Baldivis pony club, and have since moved to Serpentine pony club. I have been eventing for the past 3 years and am hooked!
When did you start riding and why?
I started riding lessons when I was 3 because I wanted to ride horses like mum :)
What do you enjoy most about riding ?
The thrill and knowing that it is not about the result, but how you get to the result which makes the challenge.
How often do you ride ?
As often as I can! Generally 4-5 times a week.
What do you think is your best riding discipline ?
Eventing, I like to think I am a little bit good at everything, I dont really have much of a 'specialty'.
How long have you been competing with Jasmine ?
Just over 1 year.
What is your favourite competition accessory?
My Bling browbands mum has made for me, I am always 100% colour co-ordinated no matter the discipline! I would also have to add Jasmine's beautiful Leather halter which mum had her name and show name engraved on either side.
What is your favourite event and why ?
Peel ODE, It always seems to be the ODE which I move up a grade on my horse, It is always perfectly run and is such a nice course to ride. I also really love Capel ODE the cross country course is awesome!
What do you do outside of the Horse world?
Not much!! It is hard to find time for things around school and the horses, but mostly I just enjoy relaxing and catching up with my friends at the movies and stuff.
Interests/hobbies:
I love reading, art and sightseeing (especially horseback!), but my main hobby is definately riding, there is nothing quite like it.
What are your Future Ambitions out side of the horse world:
I just want to be happy. Career-wise I would like to become a teacher, although in an ideal world I would like to be a riding instructor and horse trainer.
